TasTrip14: Last day in Launceston

June 19, 2014 | Leave your thoughts

My last day was hosting an Urban Sketchers event in ‘Lonnie’ as the locals call it. Read all about it on the USK AUS blog here. It was a very fresh morning but perfectly still and I  had the best morning sketching and meeting some lovely local sketchers.

The most significant building in town is the Post Office… but it is currently under wraps but at least I managed a quick warmup sketch of the tower.

Next – I wanted to sketch the Town Hall- so approached this lovely crisp buidling in my old style. Perspective setup, ink outlines and then colour. (lovely lunch at the Tearoom cafe QVMAG Royal Park was added later)

And then I went crazy on my final sketch of this amazing terrace building on Cameron St.

I was a happy girl!

Ended my trip with a catch-up with some friends who I have known all their lives. They ordered the chocolate plate….

And I will end these long posts with my flight home sketch..,
