Last Week: Sabbatical sketches

November 8, 2016 | 5 Comments

As requested here are scans of my sketches from last week – if you missed my vlog please check it out here.

I’m so glad that so many people enjoyed it. I definitely hope to do more, but I just have to find a way to make it sustainable. I know that it will become faster and maybe in time making vlogs will be a lot easier than scanning my sketches and writing about them. There is no doubt that creating content (in whatever format) on a regular basis is a huge time commitment and I am currently assessing how to balance all the things I want to do.

Anyway, here are the sketches…

Enjoy!

Hi Liz, thank you so much for all your work! I love your style, and have just signed up for my second course with you, following a prompt in your newsletter this morning. Foundations, and Edges now. Just wanted to say, with regards to the vlog vs blog format, I much prefer the written blog because I can read it whenever I want and I’m not disturbing anyone around me (I work in an open-plan office, and I read your posts on work time!).

thanks for your comment Sherry – and yes, I do see the advantages of the written blog format. So it would be great to do both. Will see how I go.

Thank you, Liz, for the regular blog post. I’ve been enjoying looking at your scanned pages & your notes on your thoughts about each sketch. Being able to look at the whole, I see where your daily art journey is taking you as you comment on what you do or don’t like & on the circumstances around them. Sets the ‘scene’ for what I am looking at. Always enjoy reading your scripture for the day, too! Thank you for sharing!

Hi Liz – thanks for taking the extra trouble to do this post for us. I enjoyed the vlog, but I’m also one that enjoys zooming in and examining parts of your sketches in detail. Helps my understanding and I believe this should improve my own sketches, and attaining your looseness has become my (mostly) elusive holy grail.
To be fair to yourself though, you have to remain mindful of what’s best for managing your workload. Whatever you decide, the faithful will continue their support.
