Leisurely Lilac

July 12, 2014 | Leave your thoughts

A lovely relaxing day which included:
1. A  visit to my favourite art store – The Artscene. It was, as usual, a longer visit than anticipated – I normally run into a sketcher roaming the aisles of goodies but today it was just talking to the staff and admiring the NEW DANIEL SMITH paint stand! (Stop Press: exciting news!)
2. A lovely lunch with my best friends … and I didn’t even think to bring my sketchbook out as I had decided beforehand to have an easy day today. Yes, that’s right, I said it, an easy day!  This is even more surprising considering today is an international sketchcrawl day when I typically sketch no stop dawn to dusk!
3. After dinner – allowing myself the luxury of sketching in a random rambling way at a leisurely pace. I think you all know me well enough to know that despite spending the last 2 days in a tearoom, I am still inspired to sketch teacups!  It was fun to play with paint and ink and watercolour pencil using some flowers that I was given today as a prompt.

A very pink page…  a bit out of character in terms of colour (but not subject matter!)
