Architecture relaxation sketching to Brahms

November 20, 2013 | Leave your thoughts

Here is the spread from yesterday with this afternoon’s architectural sketch relaxation… trying to slow my pace and just have a bit of fun with line and colour. I know there are other things to draw – and I much prefer to be out on location and not sketching from a secondary source but some days it is just a photo in a book that I am reading that jumps out and I use it as a reference for a little playing on the page.

Just thought it would be good to list details of my sketches…I don’t think I could do it every time- but today I will!
Left: Pilot Parallel Pen 1.5mm with Noodlers Bulletproof Ink (too much ink on the page to attempt any wash over the top)
Right: Green 55 degree Sailor pen also with Noodlers Bulletproof
Daniel Smith watercolour (will do an update of colours in my palette soon.)
Stillman and Birn Zeta:6 x 8″ Spiral sketchbook (with a Liz sketch on the cover!)

Oh – and Brahms is playing in the background. Sym 1:4th movement, Piano Concerto 1, and oh! Violin Sonata #3:2nd movement (a piece recommended to me by a USker on day 2 of the symposium in Santo Domingo – I love to make random associations with music like that)
