Catching up on all my other sketching from last month!

As well as all the outings I went on during July (either with family or solo) I also kept up my morning sketching routine! And in addition, I also went out a few times in the afternoon to find something new to sketch. On this particular occasion, it was Killara Uniting Church.

Here is the finished sketch with a Neocolor II sky added. And as I wrote on the page – it is very out of character to do so much texture – I almost drew every block of stone!

Another afternoon outing – Beauchamp Park in Chatswood.

On an overcast day I decided to draw the shops along the Pacific Hwy – hmm, it’s interesting to note all the changes in the shops since last time I sketched this scene. And my nephew was still enough for a few seconds so I could add him to the scene.

I haven’t sketched the green door to St Albans for a few months as it’s an afternoon sketching spot. But on this particular day I had my morning coffee at home and then went out after lunch.

And then there are the usual Village Green sketches – either of the Green itself or of the Spanish Mission building facing the Green. Can you tell which of the following sketches began with shadow shapes?

And yes if you are wondering… all these sketches are done with dry media – no watercolour at all in this book!

I’m now caught up with all the sketches contained within Sketchbook No. 173 – yay! So that means it’s time for another live sketchbook tour  which I will do next week (stay tuned for more details about that on Monday)

I hope that your everyday sketching is going well at the moment!

Lovely pages, Liz. I notice that your dates are different – not your usual stamps. Something about the change in format to a smaller square perhaps??

THanks Susan. The stamps would be a little big for this size page…plus I just wanted a break from having to stamp daily 🙂

You have such a lovely variety in your area! Your sketches are endlessly interesting. Even your village green seems endlessly interesting!
