Dallas First day: Visiting JFK sites

October 28, 2017 | Leave your thoughts

A great first day in Dallas exploring the downtown and a few sites associated with JFK.

Flight from Austin to Dallas. If I had a car (and was happy to drive on the other side of the road!) if would have made more sense to drive… but the short flight was fun.

SO nice- Judy picked me up from the airport and then we have a lovely coffee today.

A little relaxing in my hotel room including a sketch of the Municipal Building opposite. The window sill was perfect!

Here is the sketch.

First stop was the JFK memorial by Philip Johnson.

Watercolour sketch inside.

Quick WCP sketch of the exterior.

Then I headed to Dealey Plaza – the location of JFK’s assassination.

A crazy sketch of Big Red

The 6th Floor Museum all about JFK was really interesting.

Views from the 5th floor window.

Then down at Dealey Plaza

My sketches of the important sites.
