Big Trip 2010: Urban Sketchers Symposium in Portland - Day 3

October 23, 2010 | Leave your thoughts

Day 3 Opening

It’s so funny that the instructors on the morning panel were sketching the audience – Kurt, Tia and Isobel.

Morning Workshop: Urban Nature with Matt Brehm

As it was an international sketchcrawl day I had to sketch my breakfast and then had fun putting together this spread.

A wonderful workshop by Matt.

Somehow I ended up sketching with Matt and Jason in this wide open space

I was really happy with this simple sketch

Afternoon Lecture

A great lecture by Frank – as you would expect

And then Gerard gave an explanation of spherical perspective.

And of course I had to get an update on his sketchbook pages!

Afternoon Sketchcrawl

A free afternoon of sketching… I had pre-post symposium blues and ended up during a sketch by myself…

… before searching out some others.

And doing a sketch of our venue and host – the PNCA

Group photo

Then it was time for the group photo

And Lapin still sketching portraits…

Closing reception

Wonderful to be able to look through everyone’s work

So much sketching done over the last three days!

And Lapin still doing portraits.

I managed to get this photo in between sketches.

Tome for photos… with Gabi and Kumi

With Gerard and Pete

with Matt

with Veronica

and finally with Gabi and Laura (who I had dinner with that evening)

Time to say goodbye – what an incredible three days!
