Tastrip15: In Launceston

February 11, 2015 | Leave your thoughts

I am in Launceston, Tasmania, for a few days working on a new project. I am planning a special 3 day travel workshop for later in the year with three amazing local ladies (3 sisters) who are in the tourism industry. We have been looking at venues and planning activities and extremely excited about it all.

This morning I was taken on a dry run of a food tour which was great fun but rather pressuring to sketch, eat, and talk-oh! include a newspaper interview in one of the stops!

After lunch we visited a number of venues. It sounds fun, and it is, but it is also exhausting – as on top of my usual hyper activity (and sketching non stop) I am thinking of workshop ideas (exercises, subject matter) and logistics.

And then this afternoon after the work, and after a quiet cup of tea in my lovely apartment (more about that later!) I went out to relax and do a few sketches just for me… need I say more.

I have just realised that as the first 24 hours of this trip has filled 12 double page spreads in my 3/4 full alpha 9 x 6 daily sketchbook, and I have 1/4 left of my handbook, that I have a serious sketchbook crisis ahead! For the first time ever, I didn’t start a special sketchbook for this week long trip! Oops!
