Two favourite sketchbook pages

December 16, 2020 | 4 Comments

Do you have any sketchbook pages which stand out as favourites?

I have many… but it’s funny that the ones which come to mind first are these two from 2010 and 2011. Whilst both of these pages are colourful and contain interesting compositions, I considered both ‘failures’ whilst in the midst of creating them.

So these two spreads are great examples of how powerful sketchbook design is! Just spending a little time working on the spread after the last sketch is done can pull it all together.

The other special thing about these pages is that they both record good times with fellow sketchers – Omar, Eduardo and Jeanette. The Lisbon spread also is a great example of how much emotion is sometimes recorded in my sketchbook.

It’s been so wonderful to revisit many memories as I look for examples for my upcoming Sketchbook Design course. I have released a few free intro lessons and a special earlybird price which you can get by signing up here. These lessons will only be available for free until midnight Thursday 19 Dec (Pacific Time) so if you are interested please signup today. 🙂

I can’t wait to go through this course with the group!

But in the meantime, I would love to hear from you…

Do you have any sketchbook pages which stand out as favourites? Why are they favourites? I would love to see them if they can be shared in a link.
