Sketchbook Part 1: The first two days in Singapore

Here are my sketches from the two days before the Symposium began.

This is a very exciting time as people arrive each day and the city becomes alive with Urban Sketchers. It was amazing that despite the size of Singapore, I ran into USkers on every street, no matter where I was.

Monday: Spent a very hot and heavy humid morning down at the Gardens by the Bay (and met Murray from NZ for the first time!) and then heading back to Kampong Glam for a quiet afternoon, sketch and then amazing dinner with Paul and Eve from Singapore, Juilette (France) and Luis (Portugal).

Tuesday: Back to Kampong Glam with Marc and others… I can’t remember all the ins and outs of the groups but everywhere I went not only did I meet sketchers I knew from around the world, but also some of the Aussie gang! Australians were everywhere! Took some time out to plan my workshop and sort out where the shade would be etc and then it was time for dinner again (almost impossible to sketch at dinner time and 1. get any food to eat 2. talk to people!)

So here are my sketches (all done in an A4 landscape Moleskine watercolour sketchbook)….
