A few challenges for myself. Colour Diet and Sketchercise

Colour Diet:

I have been thinking of testing out working with a triad for a while (of course seeing Shari in action in BCN was a big factor in my desire) but a direct challenge this week from one of my Urban Sketching friends has made me do it!! I want to make sure that I have a good box for my paints with lots of mixing area- so a small pocket kit would not do it. So I found an old metal tin the same as my current one. This means that I can put 2 different triads in it. I am very grateful for the wonderful site of my friend and local artist Jane Blundell. She has lots of options on her triad page (and lots of other amazing resources on colour as well!) Read my notes for more information.

Sketchercise:
(a term coined by Katherine Tyrrell London)

After my Monday visit to the physio I was told that I must get to the gym more regularly even if I have some muscular issues… so a little gym schedule was a good way to commit to this. I did this page on Tuesday and my hand was still sore so I tried out a new pen grip that one of my FB friends suggested. You can see that it will take a bit of practice to get the control. And with every gym visit I am to do a sketch as part of the outing.
