Recent Sketches: My base rate of sketching

November 28, 2022 | 4 Comments

It’s time to do a big catch-up on my everyday sketching for the past few weeks (before and after my recent trip to Port Macquarie). I don’t have a lot to say about these pages except for the fact that they represent my ‘base rate’ – the amount of sketching that has become part of my daily life. So in the pages included below you will see:

  • Lots of versions of the Village Green (thanks to my morning routine of going for a walk, getting a coffee and doing a sketch)
  • A number of teacups – I’m still going on my latest teapot and teacup project and will do a separate article soon.
  • A few swatches and examples done as part of the Live Version of my Watercolour On Location course.
  • An outing to the City (as shared previously) and a short visit to Balmain
  • Some sketches and tests with the Kakimori Nib
  • Not one visit to Lane Cove National Park (a sign of how much I have going on at the moment)
  • A skirt audit and some other bits and pieces from my day.

Most of the sketches on these pages contain a mix of watercolour, coloured pencils and GoldFaber Aqua markers. And although the subject matter is repetitive I’m always looking for ways to vary the layout of my pages.

Here they all are…

And so ends Everyday Sketchbook #165. I’m enjoying the A4 hardbound Alpha so much that I’ve started another one!

How’s your everyday sketching been lately? I would love to hear from you in the comment section below.
