I was working on Saturday (lots of fun video editing) and so I started the day with a latte, as I do every work day. But because it was the weekend, I went to a different cafe – my Saturday cafe. I like the sunny atmosphere and the personalities at my weekly cafe, but I must say that I am happier sketching a cup and saucer rather than a glass and saucer.
Here I was playing with the two mixed greys in my palette. My usual Steel’s Grey (more info here) and the mixed grey that I am currently testing which uses cerulean as its base. Are lot the granulation, and even more importantly the colour separation.
These days I rely on lost edges a lot (something I have a whole lesson on in my SketchingNow Edges course) but in my attempts to test out the colour separation of my washes, I missed one rather strange shape that was forming. Did you notice it?
Oh! there is so many things you have to juggle when you sketch with watercolour.
