Friday night baroque in a new sketchbook

How many of you remember the old days of Friday night Baroque?

When I used to work as an architect I often ‘relaxed’ at the end of a busy week by doing a crazy quick sketch of a fancy Baroque building.

Tonight I felt in the mood to revive the old tradition…. so here is San Marcello al Corso in Rome by Carlo Fontana. I sketched this building towards of my Baroque day as part of my Virtural European trip a few months ago.

It was the perfect subject to get to know the paper in a new book.

Those of you who follow me on Instagram already know what it is…. A Goldline Mixed Media Art Journal by Clairefontaine that I got at Larry Post. It seems to be the same book as one I bought in Europe last year under the brand of Charvin.

I’ll do a full review once I have finished the book, but interested to see if any of you have tried it and what you think of it. Lots of interesting comments already here.
