When I have no time to sketch...

September 12, 2019 | 2 Comments

I don’t have a lot of time to sketch at the moment due to my current very interactive SketchingNow course – Watercolour On Location – which has just started!

But it only takes a few minutes to do a fun open-ended continuous line sketch – even if it’s just of a boring carpark! There are always interesting shapes and relationships to explore and record, no matter where you are.

I have come to learn that everything — no matter how dull or seemingly uninspiring — can become interesting if you look at them as studies of shapes, values, lines or compositions (rather than whatever things they are). If you must be “inspired” first, then it’s much harder to practice sketching. Your sketch today is exactly what I’m talking about!
