Cuppa Tea Time: Just taking it easy

February 11, 2016 | Leave your thoughts

I can only go for so long without feeling the need for a teacup sketch, and this is especially the case when I am flat out.

The last week has been so insane that I needed a little quiet time last night just to move the paint around on the page while I was drinking a cup of tea. No ink in this sketch, just paint.

BTW – my class on Sketchbook Skool SEEING where I share my secrets behind sketching complex teacups and buildings (the two ARE very related) is available again soon. More details here.

Do you have a subject matter that is relaxing to draw? Something that you don’t have to worry about accuracy or anything – just draw (or paint). Maybe its more of a technique (eg blind contour, continuous line) or just simply an exercise (doodling or colouring in).

I would love to hear if you have something that you do when you want to sketch/make art but your energy or concentration levels are low?
