As I mentioned in my “reflections” article… Instagram Stories are the best.
They were only form of social media that I could consistently keep up with during the craziness of the Chicago Urban Sketchers Symposim. Small snippets of my days – a bit rough at times but always lots of fun and sometimes… just a touch corny. But they were only visible on Instagram for 24 ours so here is video that threads them together. Its amazing what a complete story they have created of an incredible fortnight in Chicago.
Enjoy!

Thank you SO MUCH for having preserved those rapidly disappearing Instagram stories. This was indeed a feast of the “whole enchilada” – Though I’ve got bits and pieces of the event’s live streaming, your video collage helped me experience the magnitude of this event. I’m almost as excited as if I’d been there.
thanks Gaelle – I’m pleased at the complete story it tells. So much I missed, but what is there shares the fun and excitement. Glad you enjoyed it!
What an amazing record of your Chicago adventure! So many buildings, so many sketchers! You really captured a sense of place and your activities. Thank you for sharing it.
totally Corinne – so many buildings, so many sketchers. glad you enjoyed it!
I loved seeing Chicago through your eyes, Liz. Im so glad you figured out how to make a video of the Stories to share with your tribe. Thank you.
thanks Jo – its a pity the format between the phone and youtube as so different. Now to do the Montreal one… and even Italy and Scotland!
Thank you for all your efforts to put together a visual record of experiences and paintings for us. We who were unable to attend got a taste of your journey. The paintings wee wonderful and superior to photographs….a personal opinion not intended to poke at photographers. I love the spontaneous sketches and runny washes so fittly placed. Thank you!
my pleasure – glad you enjoyed it Bernadette
Loved seeing all your videos together! It really took me back to the excitement of Chicago. Thanks for sharing this.
I love, love, love cityscapes! Love your sketches Liz and that video was awesome.
thanks Tyler!
