Just a quick sketch at lunchtime and splash of paint tonight.
This evening I went to opening of a wonderful exhbition of Nicola Moir‘s wonderful watercolours in Clovelly. She is a part of the Sydney Urban Sketchers group and we recently met at the second Garden sketchabout. So inspiring for me to see some large scale loose watercolours – something I do want to try more seriously if I ever find some dedicated ‘art time’. I also met the owners of the gallery which was lovely and after flicking through my sketchbook in their kitchen (their house adjoins the gallery) they thought I just might be interested in two lovely tea pots – now I wonder why they thought that???
A quick sketch I did to summarise the evening – drawn from website photos/dim teapot memory

The detail you put into your sketches is brilliant. I must try harder.
I love the strong colour washes. Too many people, myself included, use washses that are to washy.
