Architectural Reading and Sketching

November 18, 2009 | Leave your thoughts

It is going to take me a long time to read this book if this is the rate I go at – but some of the concepts are just so interesting that I want to record them in my journal.

I wish I could develop a quicker way to take visual notes when reading a book – one of the benefits of this Daler Rowney cartridge book is the cheaper paper copes better with a looser / notetaking/ text type page… But the previous post was all about my goal of trying to slow my sketches down… So there is a nice paradox for you!

Kaufmann’s book doesn’t have many pictures so it is a hard going read (if you don’t know the buildings he mentions in passing) Even if you do know the buildings, it is worth looking them up… and maybe even sketching them!
