Last week, I caught up with Jane Blundell, whom I hadn’t seen in ages. We sat with the sun on our backs for about 3 hours sketching and talking non-stop! It was so good!
These two sketches were a good example of reflex sketching (not really concentrating on my work), while also experimenting with some materials I had never used on location before. I’m testing out a few new things I’m considering taking on my upcoming overseas trip. I’m sharing the decision-making process in weekly videos with paid members of my Sketching Adventure Community on Patreon and once I’ve made my final decision, I will share it with you here on the blog.
I’ve also been using a smaller-than-usual sketching (the 8.5 x 5.5″ softcover Alpha) and was initially a bit frustrated that I couldn’t fit the whole of this piece of machinery on my page. But in the end, the top half of it was enough.
Thanks Jane for a lovely afternoon!
