A great book on colour

One of my favourite books on colour and watercolour is The watercolour artist’s guide to exceptional color by Jan Hart. Sadly, it has been out of print for a few years so I haven’t mentioned it much on my blog. So you can imagine how excited I was to find out this week (thanks to Parkablogs) that it is now available as an ebook.

The first section on different pigment types is exceptional, and I go back and refer to it time and again. But the whole book is wonderful and contains more meaty information than most of the other general books I have on the topic of watercolour.

Getting the book out to take a few photos for you has made me realise that I need to read the whole book again. So I will do a full review once I have done that, but in the meantime you might want to check out the reviews on Amazon.

The e-book is available on Jan Hart’s website here.

I have had this book for years, too, and love it. We go south in the winter, so it stays at home. I am so glad to find out I can carry it with me on my Kindle or iPad. Thanks for the heads up 🙂

So great! I just picked me up a second hand printed copy for $30AU! Nothing like finishing a Friday with a bargain.

  • No eBook listed now Liz. I suspect someone pirated the book, converted it to an eBook and uploaded it, followed closely by the publisher or Jan Hart herself getting Amazon to pull it down. This happens more often than you think.

Hi larry. Sorry if it was unclear in my post. The e-book is on Jan’s site. Just made that clearer in my text. But yes I could imagine that type of thing happens a lot.
