It is a bit of a tradition with me to sketch a tea cup on 1st or 2nd day back home after a big trip … Just to see if it is different.

I am very surprised that this came out so wet! I was expecting the reverse as I am no longer in a humid climate. Is the paper in my sketchbook still damp? (hardly!) Was I really working that wet in Singapore and Cambodia?  (I don’t think so!) Or is it just that I am still exhausted and haven’t retained my normal control of water on the brush? I am happy with the result but just curious…

I love the unpredictable nature of spontaneous unplanned sketching – every time it is an exciting adventure!
