I am super excited to announce that SketchingNow Edges (self directed) course is now open for registration!
The course is full of in-depth content:
– 5 hours of video
– 12 different demonstrations
– over 70 pages of downloadable content
– private Flickr group for sharing work and discussions with others
– unlimited access to all course content
This is a self directed course with unlimited access, meaning that you can start whenever you want, work through the lessons at your own pace, and re-visit the content over and over again.
Is this different from the first run of Edges in September 2015?
No! it is the same course, just re-packaged in a self-directed format. And just a reminder: if you did the original Edges weekly course you still have access to it. Just make sure you are logged in to access the course.
Do I need to do the Foundations course first?
No, but it is recommended. The content in Edges builds on the concepts explained in Foundations so you will get the most out of the course if you have done the Foundations exercises first. You might want to check out my Foundation Fridays series on my blog which will give you a good idea of the content. If you don’t understand what I am referring to by seeing edges and shapes and doing sight measurements then I recommend you start with Foundations.
I got some many lovely reviews after the first time I ran the course. We can read some of them over at SketchingNow, but here is one:
“What a great online class! And I do not say that lightly because I am an online instructional designer by trade. Loved that you had 3 or 4 well defined objectives each week. Loved your transitions between lessons. You were always able to relate the material from the previous week to the current week. The videos were fantastic! Your peppy demeanor made them engaging along with additional scenes of people walking in the park etc. It was like a story, not just a tutorial! The over the shoulder shots were a godsend. The handouts were wonderful summaries. (I felt like I got a free book with this class!) ….Thank you for such a wonderful class! ” Vivian
I am just so pleased to be able to offer this course again! Edges contains lots of very important concepts that will help you sketch ANY subject matter and it’s a summary of the ideas that I am working through in my own work right at the moment. This image shows four of the full demos I filmed on location during the course and there are even more demos.. but I don’t want to spoil all the fun for you. There are also lots of exercises to work through at home with the emphasis on explaining concepts rather than ‘copy my techniques’.
Please visit SketchingNow for more details and make sure you keep an eye out here on my blog over the next few weeks as I share more about the course. And oh, if you missed it before here is the video explaining the course.
