I’m really excited to announce that I’m hosting a Group Run-through of my SketchingNow Buildings next month. It will start on 13 October and take us through to mid December… and as a special bonus I will be doing 9 weekly livestreams (in addition to the extensive pre-recorded lessons) to go through the main concepts, review work and do more demos. And as always, if you have signed up for Buildings at any time you will be able to take part in this Group Run-through for free.
The Buildings course is a comprehensive programme to enable you to sketch any building with confidence! It will change the way you see architecture, making it much easier to sketch.
Many people believe that you need perfect perspective to sketch buildings, and while perspective is important (and included in the course) there are more fundamental concepts to understand and use first.
I’ll be sharing more about the course in the coming weeks, but today I just want to tell you about some free lessons!
I’ve put together a few video intro lessons to introduce some of these fundamentals that we explore in the course:
- How to use basic observational skills – angles and relationships – to draw buildings without perspective and achieve more accurate foreshortening so your sketches don’t look flat.
- How to draw building elements with appropriate thicknesses and depths so your building sketches look solid
- How to work in a structural way so that you don’t get lost when sketching complex buildings.
These intro lessons are only available for free from time to time, and so I’m excited to be able to offer them again to you now. Simply signup to the link below and you will be emailed the lessons, one per week, starting this Thursday 16 Sept.
Please let me know if you have any questions about the Buildings course… or any other SketchingNow course.
