CA18 Trip: A quick catchup

November 7, 2018 | 1 Comment

This trip has been unbelievably busy with very little time on my own. I’ve been keeping up with sharing my adventures on my Instagram stories, but I’m woefully behind posting images to my IG feed or here. So I thought I would just give you a quick teaser of some highlights from the last week and a half. I’ll write full reports (with bigger images) once I am home.

Lots of NorCal architecture: more Victorians, a Frank Lloyd Wright building and an Egyptian Museum. I have been sketching lots of other subjects too… but you will have to wait for the full reports to find out more!

Inspiring sketching outings and chats with friends – Laurie Wigham, Suhita Shirodkar, Nina Khashchina (Applepine), Gay Kraeger and more. Plus a few new friends in an exclusive menswear store!

SoCal architecture: Castle Green and City Hall in Pasadena and Union Station in downtown LA.

Attending the first ever Sketchkon (organised by Sketchbook Skool and Artist’s Network) in Pasadena which included lots of inspiring lectures, leading a 1 hour sketchcrawl and spending a lot of time hanging out with Ohn Mar Win (a UK illustrator).

This has just scratch the surface of what I have done (and sketched!) More next week, I promise!
