Happy Holidays

Wishing you a wonderful holiday season!

My family normally has its main (but still very low key) catch up on Boxing Day (26th) with the Melbourne test match in the background (cricket) and only something small on the 25th. This year as the 25th is on Sunday, it will be my usual Lord’s Day with church in the morning and evening and a full day of rest and worship. Last year I went to the beach on Christmas and if you are interested in more about why I don’t observe Christmas ‘religiously’, here is a little more.

I am looking forward to catching up with all my immediate family on Boxing Day and hope that I will be able to squeeze some sketching in. I haven’t done any Xmas related sketching this year – so this is a sketch from a few years ago! Will you be sketching over the holiday period?

So take care my friends, safe travels and don’t each too much food!

Liz, I wish you Happy holidays too. For us Christmas is the time in the year when the family tries to come together. This year it is going to be a bit different; the eldest son is coming over from London and the youngest is staying with the family of his girlfriend in Mexico over New Year. So we’ll be having a family gathering mid-January. And in the meantime I would like to have time for sketching.

Hi Gerda – hope you have a wonderful family get together in Mid January and got some time for sketching. (I didn’t – too many kids and aunty duties!)

Great post!! So glad to hear of other believers not celebrating Christmas. May you have a blessed Lord’s Day.

Hi Aneta! thanks so much for your comment. Not a lot of people think the same, so very special to find people that do. May the Lord bless you and family richly in 2017.

Happy Holidays, Liz! Thank you so much for the effort you put into your blog throughout the year so that we all may share in your sketching experience. I love the vlogs you share too. You are a wonderful inspiration. I’m not a Christian but I totally understand your reasons for not celebrating Christmas Day. Personally, I’m not a huge fan of Christmas anymore because of how commercialised it has become. Our Christmas will be quiet and minimal. All the best for 2017!

    • Liz Steel says:

thanks Serena, glad that you can understand my slightly rare perspective! Hope 2017 is a wonderful year for you and your family.
