More fun with watercolour and watercolour pencils

Relaxing in my garden and continuing to try out mixing wc pencils and watercolour paint...so much fun!

My goal for this year (well one of many!) is to regulare my looseness... but sometimes I just go crazy! Testing out some of the watercolour pencils in the cheap set used by Erin Hill's classes.
I added watercolour, more pencil work, and then lots of water from my waterbrush... AND had a total disregard for perspective. Filled in the 5-10 minutes I had to wait.

  1. I'll have to give watercolour pencil and watercolours together a go, I like the looseness of your drawings.

  2. thank you ann! I find watercolour pencil a LOT more fun in association with paint. Then try it over the top - draw in wet paint... all fun!

  3. Working wonderfully well, Liz.
Oh, what I'd give for access to the Stanton Library!

  4. I love the fresh and loose look of your recent sketches! Would you describe your process a bit more? Draw first with water-soluble pencils, then use a wet or paint-filled brush to go over the lines? And then draw with pencils over that?? Wow! Is that right?
