Big Trip 2010: Back home and back sketching Sydney

October 9, 2010 | 4 Comments

Ok… know you will think I am totally crazy…but I ended up having a big but relaxing day today to complete my holiday!

I just couldn’t have a quiet day at home could I? That would just be too normal – honestly the best thing for jet lag is to get out walking, sun, fresh air etc.

I just wanted to get outside and into the city… to celebrate the fact that I am home!

As much as I LOVE travelling, for me at this time of my life, Sydney is the best place in the world to live.

I feel like my big trip has been more than a journey than simply a holiday – the travelling might be over but the journey continues even though I am going back to normal life. Getting out today really has blurred the edges between my big trip ending and normal life re-commencing and I did 2 of the 4 spreads in Volume 8.

I do hope to start sharing some on the insights and inspirations from my trip in the coming weeks.

  • Oh, what an amazing journey, Liz! I have so enjoyed reading and seeing all you've posted. Your books are such treasures forever. Incredible! Welcome home to you–hope you get some of that rest soon–you must need it. I know how nice it is to get home again. Love these latest sketches of your home town.

What a wonderful way to end your trip…with sketches of your home town! These are excellent–I especially like the one of the bridge. Reminds me of Portland!
